"This was just a great job by our guys all the way around," Samford head coach Tony David said. "This was another tight one. Mason started and threw well early after we took the lead. He did a good job of pitching out of trouble when they tied it back up. It was a game filled with really big defensive plays for us and big swings late. Middle relief did a great job today. Whitney came in and did a good job, Marble got his inning and then Tommasini on the back end."
