"Our staff might have put in more time and effort recruiting Blaine than any player in our time at Samford. Blaine is a truly special talent that brings a unique skill set to our program. We believe he has the ability to play all the infield positions at a high level. Being a switch hitter, he will add the ability to hit from left side to an infield group that is all right handed. In addition to his ability as an infielder he has a chance to be dynamic on the mound for us. Blaine also comes in with a lot of leadership ability as shown with his success as a quarterback on a great high school team."
High School: Native of Oak Grove, Ala. . . . played at Bessemer Academy in Bessemer, Ala. . . . came out of high school ranked as the No. 2 middle infielder in the state of Alabama, as well as the 69th-ranked middle infielder in the nation.
