2007 OVC All-Newcomer Team
2008 OVC All-Tournament Team Has been challenged to really step up in the pitching circle...has just scratched the surface of her ability in both hitting and pitching...can do so much physically for this team. 2009 (Junior): Played and started in all 51 games for the Bulldogs last season . . . pitched in 22 while playing right field in 13, left field in one and designated player in 37 . . . batted in the first third of the order six times while hitting clean-up for 45 contests . . . struck out 28 batters and putout 19 while assisting 29 . . . only committed two errors the whole season . . . the third best returner in hitting after recording a .263 average last season . . . had 15 runs on 41 hits while also batting in 25 runs . . . blasted three runs and four doubles and reached base safely 54 times . . . third best hitter with two outs, grabbing 19 hits for a .322 average . . . recorded 11 multiple-hit games while also posting seven games with more than one RBI . . . posted a 4.42 ERA and a 5-14 record in the circle . . . made 28 appearances at pitcher, starting 22 games while pitching six complete games. 2008 (Sophomore): Named to the 2008 OVC All-Tournament team after finishing the three-day competition with a .400 batting average...named Player of the Week on April 7...saw action in 52 of Samford[apos]s 54 games in 2008 and started all but two of those 52 meetings...finished second on the team in batting average (.303) and led the Bulldogs in doubles (9) and runs batted in (42)...hit .310 against right-handed pitchers and was 5-for-9 with the bases loaded...hit .366 as the leadoff hitter and .349 with runners in scoring position, a team-best...finished the season with a .427 success rate in advancing runners...turned in 10 multi-RBI appearances in 2008...tied seventh in the OVC with fellow Bulldog Aaren Fisher for runs batted in (38)...spent most of the season at first base and hitting in the number four spot in the line-up...caught six runners stealing and turned nine double plays...also pitched in 29 games, recording the lowest earned run average (3.27) of Samford[apos]s active pitchers on the season and holding opponents to only a .278 batting average in 105 innings pitched...ranks fourth on Samford[apos]s career batting average list (.301) and the career RBI list (73), and sixth on the career homeruns list with 12)...earned her second varsity letter. 2007 (Freshman): Named to the 2007 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer team . . . earned OVC Player of the Week honors April 16 as she connected on a pair of home runs and tallied nine runs batted in . . . started all 54 games as a true freshman and led the team with 163 at-bats . . . finished the season ranked second on the team with a .294 batting average and was tied for the team-lead in both home runs (7) and triples (2) . . . was also a near-perfect 6-of-7 in stolen base attempts . . . concluded the season as one of the Bulldogs[apos] top defensive players with a .980 fielding percentage . . . tied for the team[apos]s lead with 13 multiple-hit games, including a pair of three-hit outings against Charleston Southern Feb. 16 and Jacksonville State April 11 . . . registered a five-game hitting streak and tallied six multiple-RBI outings, including two four-RBI performances against Austin Peay March 31 and Eastern Kentucky April 14 . . . batted a team-high .714 (10-of-14) with runners on third base and less than two outs . . . turned in a .320 batting average against left-handed pitchers . . . drove in the Bulldogs[apos] game-winning run in a 2-1 eighth-inning victory against Birmingham-Southern on March 3 . . . recorded a season-high two doubles in a 5-2 win versus Nicholls State on April 12 . . . earned her first varsity letter. High School: Led all North Carolina high school players in runs batted in as a junior . . . she finished the 2005 season with 46 RBIs . . . also finished the year ranked third in the state in runs scored (38) at Central Cabarrus High School . . . named to the North Carolina Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association All-State Team as a senior . . . earned All-South Region honors at second base . . . played under the tutelage of head coach Monte Sherrill at CCHS and helped lead the Vikings to four-straight conference championships and a pair of North Carolina state titles in 2004 and 2005 . . . her high school team was ranked No. 1 in the nation . . . also lettered in basketball at CCHS . . . finished her high school career with a grade point average above 4.0 . . . named a North Carolina Scholar . . . member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Society.
