BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After one week out of the national rankings, the Samford football team moved back into the top 25 of the national Division I-FCS polls on Monday. The Bulldogs are ranked 23^rd in the FCS Coaches poll and 24^th in the Sports Network poll.
 
Samford defeated then-17^th-ranked Chattanooga Saturday, 17-14, in overtime at Seibert Stadium. Chattanooga is the only other Southern Conference team ranked in this week's polls, as the Mocs are ranked 21^st in the Coaches poll and 23^rd in the Sports Network poll.
 
For the season, Samford has a record of 7-4 overall and 5-2 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs can win a share of the SoCon title if they can earn a victory in Saturday's regular-season finale against Elon.
