Game Day For Samford Football Versus Wofford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford football team will play host to the Wofford Terriers in a key Southern Conference contest Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
 
Samford enters the game with a record of 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs took the last week off from competition. Samford last played on Oct. 4, defeating Mercer by a score of 21-18.
           
Wofford is currently 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Southern Conference games. The Terriers are coming off a 26-14 setback at Western Carolina on Oct. 11.
 
Samford and Wofford will be meeting for the 12th time, with Samford holding a 7-4 advantage in the series. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the Terriers, 34-27, in a game played in Spartanburg, S.C.
 
Most of the previous meetings between Samford and Wofford have been close contests. Seven of the previous 11 meetings in the series have been decided by seven points or less, and two of the meetings have gone to overtime. In 1996, Samford defeated Wofford, 20-14 in overtime, and in 2012, the Bulldogs earned a 24-17 overtime win over the Terriers.
