BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Samford University volleyball team enters the Southern Conference volleyball tournament as this year's No. 2 seed and will square off against the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga in the first round of action on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. (CST) inside Fleming Gymnasium on the campus of UNCG in Greensboro, N.C.
The Bulldogs (17-12, 11-5 SoCon) have endured a roller coaster season as the team has seen the highs of an 11-game winning streak during the month of October to the lows of only winning one out of their last five SoCon matches during the month of November.
Samford ended the regular season on a high note after the team took care of Wofford College at home inside the Pete Hanna Center to clinch the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament championship.
SU now turns its focus to its next opponent UTC (13-18, 6-10 SoCon). The Bulldogs defeated the Mocs twice during the regular season 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-13) and 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-17).

Michaela Reesor has tallied 385 kills throughout the 2014 season for the Bulldogs and 1,579 over her career at Samford. The Caledon, Ontario, Canada native only needs 39 more kills to become the Bulldogs all-time kill leader; the record is currently held by Melissa Karwowski who posted 1,617 kills from 1992-1995.

Chelsi Carter has turned in another outstanding season with 444 digs and 52 service aces. The Merdianville, Alabama native ranks second all-time in Samford history with a career 1,636 digs and ranks 5
th in the country amongst active players with 165 service aces.
Should the Bulldogs prevail against the Mocs the team will have to face the winner between No.3 UNCG and No. 6 Mercer on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 3:30 p.m. (CST). Samford split with both of these teams during the regular season and picked up wins against each on the road in hostile environments.
