Game Day for #19 Football at Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss.—
The 19th-ranked Samford football team will step out of Southern Conference play when the Bulldogs play at SEC foe Mississippi State today at 2:30 p.m.

Samford enters the game with a record of 6-1 overall and 4-1 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs have won four games in a row and are coming off a 30-17 win over Western Carolina last week.
         
Mississippi State is currently 2-5 overall and 1-3 in SEC games. MSU fell at Kentucky, 40-38 on a last-second field goal last Saturday.
 
The Samford Bulldogs and Mississippi State Bulldogs are meeting for the 19th time, with MSU holding a 16-1-1 advantage in the series. The teams last met on Sept. 21, 1963, with MSU earning a 43-0 win over Samford. Samford's lone win in the series came on Nov. 8, 1909. In that game, played at West End Park in Birmingham, Samford came away with a 6-0 victory over Mississippi State.
