BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will host the Charlotte 49ers Friday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Complex.
Samford enters the match with a record of 1-2. The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-1 win over Alabama State Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs have a good mix of young players and veterans this season. Freshman
Max Rebol has posted a record of 2-0 so far this season at No. 4 singles. Junior
Eduardo Lourido Sanchez is 1-1 on the No. 3 singles court, while freshman
Hugo Moreira is also 1-1 at No. 6 singles.
Junior
Justin Ghavami has played at No. 1 singles, posting a record of 1-2. Junior
Jake Faundez, playing on the No. 2 singles court, is also 1-2 so far this season.
In doubles, Rebol and Sanchez are 2-0 at the No. 2 position. Ghavami and
Curran Verma have a record of 2-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Charlotte comes into the match with a mark of 4-0 so far this season. The 49ers are coming off a 5-0 victory over Temple last Saturday.
Sam Rice leads Charlotte with a mark of 4-0 at No. 1 singles. Leonardo Menezes is 3-1 on the No. 2 singles court.
