SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Samford University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-22) loss to the Wofford Terriers on Friday in a midseason Southern Conference matchup held at the Richardson Indoor Stadium.
 
With the defeat, 
Samford (9-14, 4-5 SoCon) moved to 3-6 in true away matches this season. So far this year, the Bulldogs' road victories have come against Indiana, 3-2, Western Carolina, 3-1, and UNCG, 3-2.
 
Wofford (16-8, 6-4 SoCon) entered the weekend as the third-place team in the conference standings. The Terriers have been victorious in six of their last eight matches and bounced back from a tough 3-0 road loss at Furman on Wednesday. Wofford owns a 6-2 record at home this season and is tied for first place in the conference with 16 overall wins.
 
Samford's 
Kelsi Hobbs led all performers with 16 kills Friday and registered a solid .344 hitting percentage. She also added nine digs and nearly picked up a double-double in the loss. Junior 
Krista Boesing followed with 11 kills.
 
True freshman 
Corinne Meglic remained in her full-time setter role for the Bulldogs and tallied 36 assists. Sophomore 
Grace Tiesman posted a match-high 11 digs in the contest.
 
The Samford University volleyball team will next be in action Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) as the Bulldogs conclude their two-match weekend road stretch with a key SoCon showdown against The Citadel Bulldogs to be held at McAlister Field House.
