BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will host South Alabama Friday and Belmont Saturday at the Samford Tennis Complex.
The Friday match against South Alabama will take place at 2 p.m., while the Saturday contest against Belmont is set for an 11 a.m. start.
Samford enters the matches with a record of 2-6 on the young season. The Bulldogs are coming a pair of 4-0 losses at Auburn last Saturday.
Justin Ghavami has played on the No. 1 singles court for Samford so far this season, and he owns a 2-5 record.
Jake Faundez is also 2-5 so far this season, 2-4 at No. 2 singles, and 0-1 at No. 1.
Eduardo Lourido Sanchez has a mark of 3-2 on the No. 3 singles court.
At No. 4 singles,
Max Rebol has a record of 3-3.
Curran Verma has a record of 2-6, 2-5 at No. 5 and 0-1 at No. 6.
Hugo Moreira has a record of 2-4, 0-1 at No. 5 singes, and 2-3 at No. 6.
South Alabama comes into Friday's match with a mark of 10-2. The Jaguars are coming off a 4-3 win over North Florida last Sunday. Belmont is currently 5-4 on the young season. The Bruins are coming off a 7-0 win over IUPUI. Belmont will also play at UAB on Friday.
