BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis will host Alabama State Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Samford Tennis Center.
Samford enters the match with a record of 1-1. The Bulldogs opened the season with a 7-0 loss at Alabama last Saturday, before earning a 5-2 win over Kennesaw State last Sunday.
In the win over Kennesaw State, Samford won the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. In singles, the Bulldogs earned wins at No. 2 (
Justin Ghavami), No. 3 (
Eduardo Lourido), No. 5 (
Aleksandar Petrovic) and No. 6 (
Max Rebol) to earn the win.
Alabama State enters the weekend with a record of 0-1. The Hornets fell to Middle Tennessee, 7-0 to open the season. ASU will host Mercer Friday prior to travelling to Birmingham Saturday.
Saturday's match is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the match is FREE.
