SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 27-29, 22-25) decision at Wofford in Southern Conference action Saturday night. With the loss, Samford falls to 12-12 overall and 7-3 in SoCon play.
KEY MOMENTS
- In the first set, Samford jumped out to an early 8-5 lead, but Wofford fought back to take a 13-12 lead.
- Samford came back to take a 24-22 lead, eventually winning the first set, 25-23.
- The second set was tight throughout.
- With the score knotted at 20-20, Wofford scored five of the next seven points to take the 25-22 set victory.
- In the third set, Wofford took an 11-8 lead, but Samford fought back to lead by a score of 13-12.
- With Samford leading, 20-18, Wofford came back to tie the score at 24-24, and the Terriers won the third set, 29-27.
- The fourth set was tight early until Wofford was able to take a 22-18 lead.
- The Terriers held on for the 25-22 fourth-set win, and the 3-1 match victory.
