BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will host Alabama A&M Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center.
Samford opened its season with a loss at Alabama (7-0), before claiming back-to-back wins over Kennesaw State (5-2) and Alabama State (6-1). The Bulldogs are coming off a 4-0 loss at Auburn to even its record at 2-2 entering Wednesday's match.
Jake Faundez has played each match at the No. 1 position so far for Samford, and has posted a record of 2-1.
Justin Ghavami (2-2) has played on the No. 2 singles court, while
Eduardo Lourido (2-1) has played each match at the No. 3 position.
Newcomer Roussouw Norval has played on the No. 4 singles court, posting a record of 1-3.
Aleksandar Petrovic (2-1) has held down the No. 5 spot, while
Max Rebol (1-3) has played at the No. 6 position.
Wednesday' match will mark the spring opener for Alabama A&M. The Bulldogs posted a record of 3-22 last season.
Wednesday's match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the match is FREE.
