HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Samford men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Southern Mississippi Saturday afternoon on the USM campus.
Samford's
Justin Ghavami picked up the win at No. 2 singles, defeating Teeradon Tortrakul, 6-2, 6-3. Southern Mississippi earned singles wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the win.
In doubles, Southern Mississippi won on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to earn the doubles point. The match on the No. 1 doubles court was not finished.
With the loss, Samford falls to 4-4 on the season. USM improves to 5-2 with the win.
Samford will return to action on Friday, March 2, when the Bulldogs open Southern Conference play by hosting ETSU. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
