BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will travel to the state of North Carolina for a pair of matches Sunday and Monday. The Bulldogs will play at Charlotte Sunday at 4:30 p.m. (CT), and will play a Southern Conference match at UNCG Monday at 12 p.m. (CT).
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 5-5 overall and 0-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-1 non-conference win over Eastern Kentucky last Sunday.
Samford has been led this season by seniors
Jake Faundez,
Justin Ghavami and
Eduardo Lourido. Faundez has a record of 3-5 at No. 1 singles. Ghavami has a mark of 7-3 (7-2 at No. 2, 0-1 at No. 1). Lourido is 3-4 on the season, all at the No. 3 position.
Aleksandar Petrovic has a mark of 5-3 (4-2 at No. 5, 1-1 at No. 4).
Rossouw Norval is 4-5 (3-5 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 3).
Max Rebol is 4-5 at No. 6 singles, while
Hugo Moreira has a mark of 1-2 on the No. 5 court.
Charlotte enters the match with a record of 7-8. The 49ers are coming off a 6-1 loss at Princeton last Sunday.
UNCG is currently 4-3 overall and 0-1 in SoCon play. The Spartans are coming off a 6-1 loss at ETSU Feb. 24.
