BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will host Mercer Friday at 11 a.m., and play at Louisville Sunday at 4 p.m.
Samford enters the weekend with a record of 8-7 overall and 1-2 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are coming off a pair of 7-0 non-conference wins over Alabama-Huntsville last Sunday.
Samford is led this season by seniors
Jake Faundez,
Justin Ghavami and
Eduardo Lourido. Faundez has a record of 6-7 (6-5 at No. 1, 0-2 at No. 2). Ghavami is currently 8-5 (8-2 at No. 2, 0-3 at No. 1). Lourido enters the weekend with a record of 5-6 (2-0 at No. 2, 3-6 at No. 3).
Aleksandar Petrovic has a record of 10-3 (4-1 at No. 4, 6-2 at No. 5). Roussow Norval has a mark of 8-6 (4-0 at No. 3, 4-6 at No. 4).
Hugo Moreira enters the matches with a record of 2-3 (2-2 at No. 5, 0-1 at No. 6).
Max Rebol has a record of 6-7 (5-6 at No. 6, 1-1 at No. 5), while
Austin Heinz has a mark of 1-1 at No. 6 singles.
Mercer enters Friday's match with a record of 10-5 overall and 2-0 in SoCon matches. The Bears are coming off a 5-2 win over Wofford last Sunday.
Louisville is currently 11-4 overall and 2-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cardinals are coming off a 5-2 win over Detroit-Mercer Sunday. Louisville take on Clemson Friday, and Georgia Tech Sunday, prior to taking on Samford.
