BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will host the Furman Paladins in a Southern Conference match Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Samford Tennis Center.
The match will be Samford's first in nearly two weeks following a 7-0 loss at Louisville March 25. The Bulldogs have a record of 8-9 overall and 1-3 in Southern Conference play entering the match.
Samford is led this season by seniors
Jake Faundez,
Justin Ghavami and
Eduardo Lourido. Faundez has a record of 6-8 (6-6 at No. 1, 0-2 at No. 2). Ghavami is currently 8-7 (8-3 at No. 2, 0-4 at No. 1). Lourido enters the weekend with a record of 5-8 (2-1 at No. 2, 3-7 at No. 3).
Aleksandar Petrovic has a record of 11-3 (4-1 at No. 4, 7-2 at No. 5). Roussow Norval has a mark of 8-8 (4-1 at No. 3, 4-7 at No. 4).
Hugo Moreira enters the match with a record of 2-5 (2-3 at No. 5, 0-2 at No. 6).
Max Rebol has a record of 6-8 (5-7 at No. 6, 1-1 at No. 5), while
Austin Heinz has a mark of 1-1 at No. 6 singles.
Furman comes into the match with a record of 15-6 overall and 3-1 in Southern Conference play. The Paladins are coming off a 4-3 loss to Clemson April 4.
Saturday's match is set for an 11 a.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the match is FREE.
