BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team earned a 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-10) Southern Conference win over Wofford Saturday night at the Pete Hanna Center. With the win, Samford improves to 7-9 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference play.
KEY MOMENTS
- The first set was tight until, with the score tied at 8-8, Samford went on a 6-1 run to take a 14-9 lead.
- Wofford fought back to cut the lead to one at 23-22, but Samford scored the final two points to take the 25-22 set victory.
- In the second set, Wofford jumped out to a 22-18 lead.
- The Terriers pulled away for the 25-20 victory, tying the match at one set apiece.
- The third set was neck-and-neck until Samford was able to five-point lead at 20-15.
- Samford came away with the 25-17 victory in set three.
- In the fourth and final set, Samford raced out to an 18-6 lead.
- The Bulldogs pulled away for the 25-10 set victory and the 3-1 match win.
