ATHENS, Ohio. – The Samford volleyball team wrapped up the 2018 Bobcat Classic with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-16) win over previously undefeated Virginia Tech Saturday morning. The win was the first for Samford over an ACC opponent since a 3-1 win at Georgia Tech in 2011.

- In the first set, Samford jumped out to an early 11-4 lead.
- The Bulldogs built the lead to 11 points at 17-6.
- Virginia Tech fought back to cut the lead to three at 21-18, but Samford scored the final four points of the set for a 25-18 win.

- With Samford leading, 20-12, Virginia Tech came back to cut the lead to four at 24-20.
