BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over North Alabama Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
With the win, Samford improves to 2-2 on the season. North Alabama falls to 0-4 with the loss.
"We did a good job of taking care of business today," Samford head coach
Rahim Esmail said. "It was our first day outdoors and the guys did a pretty good job of adapting. The team did a good job getting off to quick starts in the singles today, which helped a lot with momentum. We are looking forward to competing again next weekend."
In doubles, Samford won two of the three matches to earn the first point of the match. After losing on the No. 1 court, the Bulldogs earned wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts for a 1-0 lead.
In singles, Samford swept the six matches for the 7-0 win. The clinching point came on court No. 5 where
Max Rebol picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Andreas Hansen.
Samford will host Lipscomb on Friday, Feb. 2. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center and admission is FREE!
