SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford men's tennis team opened Southern Conference play with a 4-0 loss at Wofford Friday evening at the Westside Club.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in Southern Conference play. Wofford improves to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in league play.
 
Samford won the match on the No. 3 doubles court when Max Rebol and Aleksandar Petrovic defeated Lucas Cerbelli and Diego Losada, 6-3. Wofford, however, took the matches at No. 1 and No. 2 to earn the doubles point.
 
Wofford then earned singles wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to close out the 4-0 win.
 
Samford will play at Presbyterian Saturday morning. The match is set for a 10 a.m. (CT) start. A full recap and results will be posted to www.samfordsports.com following the completion of the match.
