CLINTON, S.C. – The Samford men's tennis team earned a 4-1 win at Presbyterian Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Samford improves to 5-6 on the season. Presbyterian falls to 7-6 with the loss.
"Today was a very competitive match from top to bottom," Samford head coach
Rahim Esmail said. "I was very impressed with the way Presbyterian fought and competed throughout the match. We had to earn everything we got today. We did a good job bouncing back today, after an extremely poor performance yesterday. Max did a great job in both doubles and singles today, helping put us up 2-0 and giving us that important first singles victory which helped carry momentum on other courts that were in tight three set matches."
Samford won the doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the first point of the match.
In singles, the Bulldogs earned wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5, while falling on the No. 4 court as the Bulldogs pulled out the 4-1 win.
Samford will host Tennessee Tech on Friday, March 8. The match is set for a 2 p.m. (CT) start from the Samford Tennis Center and admission is FREE! A full recap and results will be posted to
www.samfordsports.com following the completion of the match.
