JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Samford men's tennis team fell at ETSU, 6-1 in Southern Conference action Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, Samford falls to 8-7 overall and 0-2 in Southern Conference play. ETSU improves to 12-4 overall and 4-0 in league matches.
Samford won the doubles match at No. 1, with
Sami Kirberg and
Jack Lyttle defeating Frazier Rengifo and Yusuf Khamis, 6-4. ETSU, however, won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
In singles, Lyttle picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mark Papadopoulos on the No. 6 court. ETSU claimed wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to close out the 6-1 win.
Samford will host UNCG next Saturday, March 30. The match is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start from the Samford Tennis Center. A full recap and results will be posted to
