MACON, Ga. – The fifth-seeded Samford men's tennis team was eliminated from the Southern Conference Tournament with a 4-3 loss to fourth-seeded Wofford in the quarterfinals Thursday afternoon.
With the loss, Samford ends its season with a record of 11-10. Wofford now has a record of 8-12, and the Terriers advance to Friday's semifinal round.
Wofford claimed doubles wins at No. 1 and No. 2 to take the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. Wofford, however, took the matches on courts No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to take the 4-3 lead.
