Baseball Drops Saturday Game At Wofford, 8-5

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
The Samford baseball team dropped an 8-5 decision in the second game of a three-game series at Wofford Saturday afternoon at Russell C. King Field.
 
The loss snapped Samford's 10-game win streak. The Bulldogs' record falls to 32-12 overall and 12-2 in SoCon play. Wofford improves to 26-18 overall and 8-5 in league play.
 
FROM THE BOX SCORE
  • Jordan Fucci homered and drove in two runs to lead Samford at the plate.
  • Kaden Dreier also drove in two runs for Samford, while Sonny DiChiara drove in one.
  • Jack Rude (0-3) took the loss on the mound for Samford, pitching 1.2 innings in relief, giving up two runs on one hit.
  • John Dempsey led Wofford at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
  • Hudson Byorick went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Terriers.
