CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.– The Samford men's tennis team was defeated by the Chattanooga Mocs, 5-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
This loss gives the Bulldogs a 9-8 overall record and a 1-3 conference mark for this season. The Mocs improve to a 12-10 overall record and a 3-3 conference record.
 
In singles play, the Bulldogs were victorious in two out of six matches. On court four, sophomore Aleksandar Petrovic defeated Chattanooga's Simon Bustamante 6-2, 6-3. On court six, freshman Jack Lyttle bested Jacob Marshall 6-1, 6-3.
 
In doubles, the Bulldogs won one of the three matches. It was earned by Daniel Orlita and Petrovic, who shut out their opponents 6-0.
 
Samford will take on SoCon rival Furman in Greenville, S.C. on Saturday, April 6. The match is set for a 12 p.m. CT start, and can be viewed online on the SoCon Digital Network. A full recap and results will be posted to www.samfordsports.com following the completion of the match.
