BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Alabama baseball team plated 13 runs in the third inning on its way to a 21-2 win over Samford Tuesday night at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
With the loss, Samford falls to 22-11 on the season. Alabama improves to 23-11 with the victory.

- For Samford Towns King went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
- Graham Dvorak also drove in a run for the Bulldogs.
- Hamp Skinner (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Samford, pitching 2.0 innings, giving up one run on two hits.
- The 21 runs are the most given up by a Samford team since March 18, 2014 in a 23-7 loss to Alabama State.
- For Alabama, T.J. Reeves and Tyler Gentry hit two home runs each, while Morgan McCullough, Tyler Ras, Drew Williamson, Brett Auerbach and Johnny Hawk had one home run each, as the Crimson Tide belted nine home runs in the win.
- Garrett Rukes (2-0) pitched 3.0 innings, giving up no runs on one hit to earn the win on the mound for Alabama.

LOOKING AHEAD
Samford will host The Citadel in a three-game Southern Conference series this weekend. The teams are scheduled to play Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
