Baseball Falls At Home To Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Alabama baseball team plated 13 runs in the third inning on its way to a 21-2 win over Samford Tuesday night at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 22-11 on the season. Alabama improves to 23-11 with the victory.
 
FROM THE BOX SCORE
  • For Samford Towns King went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
  • Graham Dvorak also drove in a run for the Bulldogs.
  • Hamp Skinner (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Samford, pitching 2.0 innings, giving up one run on two hits.
  • The 21 runs are the most given up by a Samford team since March 18, 2014 in a 23-7 loss to Alabama State.
  • For Alabama, T.J. Reeves and Tyler Gentry hit two home runs each, while Morgan McCullough, Tyler Ras, Drew Williamson, Brett Auerbach and Johnny Hawk had one home run each, as the Crimson Tide belted nine home runs in the win.

  • Alabama added three runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth to push the lead to 21-0.
  • Samford plated a run in the sixth inning and another in the ninth to make the final score 21-2.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
