BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Samford freshman
Allison Howard was named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Monday morning.
To be eligible for All-American Scholar honors, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade-point average. Howard boasts a 3.51 GPA in communication studies at Samford.
Howard, a native of Newton, Ala., played 18 rounds in her freshman season, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She posted a stroke average of 76.94.
Howard posted one top-20 finish in her first collegiate season, tying for 16
th out of 88 golfers in the Terrier Intercollegiate. She also tied for 26
th in the Lady Red Wolves Classic.
