BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Samford University football team will travel to Gainesville, Florida, to take on the University of Florida during the 2021 fall season, the Southeastern Conference announced when it released its schedules for next fall Wednesday.

Samford's game at Florida is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2021, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the Florida campus.

Samford and Florida have met just twice previously, with Florida winning both contests. The teams met in Montgomery in 1921, and then again in Gainesville in 1922.

Samford will play a spring schedule for the first time this year, due to the 2020 fall season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Samford will begin the spring season with a game at ETSU Feb. 20. The team's full fall schedule will be released at a later date.
