BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - With the scheduled start of the
Samford University Baseball season set for
Friday, Feb. 19 versus
Tennessee-Martin at
2 PM,
Samford Athletics announced on Wednesday a planned change to its attendance policy for
Joe Lee Griffin Field. Due to a socially-distanced grandstand, seating inside the facility is
limited to 250 fans in attendance. A complete breakdown of COVID-19 protocols is listed below.
"We're excited to have the season-opener at home this weekend versus UT-Martin and I hope to see you at Joe Lee Griffin Field," head coach
Casey Dunn said. "Our guys have put a lot of work into preparing for this year and your support is vital to our success."
The
Samford Athletics' staff has put a great deal of effort into preparing a clean and safe environment for the Bulldogs and their spectators. Covid-19 has produced unprecedented challenges for college athletics over the last few months, but we are committed to meeting each one head-on as we return to competition.
Please note that
attendance to all Samford baseball games hosted at
Joe Lee Griffin Field is
limited to
250 fans.
COVID-19 Game Day Protocols
- Masks are required at all times inside Joe Lee Griffin Field unless enjoying food or beverage from the Concession stand.
- Please maintain social distancing of 6' at all times.
- Please avoid contact with student-athletes, coaches and support personnel at all times.
- Due to a socially-distanced grandstand, seating inside the facility is limited to the first 250 fans in attendance.
- Available seating is clearly marked and signage is posted throughout the facility.
- Lawnchair seating down the left and right field foul lines is limited to the designated spaces marked on the grass.
- All Samford Baseball home games are available on ESPN+
- Anyone attending a Samford baseball game must check-in at the entrance gate down the 3rd Baseline gate adjacent to Seibert Stadium.
