BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford soccer team opened the 2021 spring season with a 1-1 tie with cross-town rival UAB Thursday night at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium. 
 
UAB is now 3-2-1 on the season, while Samford has a mark of 0-0-1.

  • UAB took the lead in the sixth minute of the match on a goal by Kassandra Daniel.
  • Samford's Taylor Yount knotted the score with a goal in the 48th minute.
