BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will be wrapping up February competition at home this week with a match against Tennessee State on Thursday at 2 p.m. and another match against UAB on Friday at 2 p.m.
The Bulldogs fell to South Alabama by a 5-2 decision this past Sunday; moving Samford to an overall record of 3-5 on the season. Tennessee State has a current record of 0-1 after facing Lipscomb University early on in February where the Tigers lost 6-0. Samford competed against UAB earlier this season, earning 4-0 win over the Blazers. UAB has a record of 1-2 and will be competing against Tennessee State this Wednesday before taking the court against the Bulldogs.

BULLDOGS TO WATCH:
- Rossouw Norval earned his third win at the No. 1 spot after being the lone Bulldog to capture a singles win against South Alabama this past Sunday. Norval defeated Julien Evrard in a competitive three-set match with a close score of 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.
- Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrix have continued to keep a clean sheet in doubles play, now going 4-0 on the season after a 6-4 win at the No. 1 spot against South Alabama's Loïc Cloes and Clément Marzol.
- Fellow doubles partners, Eladio Fabregas and Harrison Williams, had their first match together at the No. 2 spot against South Alabama. They snagged a 6-2 win over Julien Evrard and Sébastien Collard to help the Bulldogs clinch the doubles point against the Jaguars.
OPPONENT QUICK LOOKS:
- Tennessee State has only taken to the court once this 2021 season where none of their players captured a win in neither singles nor doubles competition.
- UAB has captured one win this season against Alabama A&M where the Blazers took a dominant 7-0 victory. They have seen losses against South Alabama (7-0) and Samford (0-4) earlier this season.
