BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to ETSU in the final game of a three-game series Saturday afternoon at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- ETSU took an early lead with a run in the top of the second inning.
- The Bucs added two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to push their lead to 5-0.
- Samford got on the scoreboard when Kaden Dreier scored when Taylor Garris reached on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the lead to 5-1.
ON THE MOUND
- Zach Hester (1-2) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing one run on one hit to take the loss for the Bulldogs.
- Nathaniel Tate (2-2) tossed 6.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits to earn the win for the Bucs.
- Matthew Bollenbacher picked up his first save of the season, pitching the final 2.2 innings, giving up just one hit.
