BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team will close out its regular season on the road with its first match on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 10 a.m. against Mercer and its second on Sunday, Apr. 18 at 12 p.m. against ESTU.
The Bulldogs are looking to remain undefeated in conference play with an overall record of 12-6, 5-0 (SoCon) this season. Mercer will enter competition with a record of 11-12, 4-2 (SoCon), while the ETSU Buccaneers currently sit at 10-6, 6-0 (SoCon).

SERIES HISTORY:
- Since 2015, both teams have taken the court together eight times.
- The Bulldogs have yet to win a match against the Buccaneers.
- In their last meeting, ETSU defeated Samford by a 6-1 final decision.
BULLDOGS TO WATCH:
- Tomas Santantonio improved his overall record to 14-2 in singles after he defeated Chattanooga's Jeffrey Dewald, 6-4, 6-2, in last week's match against the Mocs. Santantonio has spent the majority of his time at the No. 5 spot this season where he has yet to drop a match with 10 straight wins. His only two losses of the season have come at the No. 4 spot against Alabama and Troy.
- In doubles, Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrikx continue to lead Samford with 12 wins on the season, 11 coming from the No. 1 spot and one from the No. 2 spot. The pair dropped their one and only match of the season against Furman's Henrik Atlevi and Jake Bhangdia by a final score of 7-6.
OPPONENT QUICK LOOKS:
- Michael Durham and David Georgadze lead Mercer in singles play with both players accumulating 11 wins and seven losses this season for the Bears. In doubles play, Durham and partner Samuel Barrow have captured a team-high ten wins while dropping five matches this season, two of which were against conference opponents.
- Dimitri Badra is a key player for ETSU in singles, capturing nine wins on court one, one on court two, and two on court three. The red-shirt sophomore has also produced a 5-1 record in conference play. Badra also makes an impact for the Buccaneers in doubles competition with partner Migual Este as the two have secured nine wins while only dropping one match this season.
