BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A total of 74 Samford student-athletes earned their degrees at on-campus ceremonies over the weekend.
Graduation ceremonies were held Friday and Saturday at Seibert Stadium. The keynote address was given by retiring President Andrew Westmoreland. The ceremonies were the final graduation ceremonies for Westmoreland, who has served as the university's president since 2006. New Samford President Beck A. Taylor will take over the position on July 1, 2021.
The men's and women's track and field programs led all Samford teams with 16 graduates. A total of 15 football players and 14 baseball players received their degrees. Soccer (6), softball (6), women's basketball (4), men's golf (4), men's basketball (3), volleyball (3), women's tennis (2) and women's golf (1) also had student-athletes graduate this weekend.
