BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford senior forward Caroline Orman was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team for District 4, the organization recently announced. 

Orman posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in health sciences at Samford. She earned her bachelor's degree from Samford this spring, and now plans to attend UAB for graduate school in the accelerated nursing program.
 
"Caroline has meant a great deal to this program throughout her time at Samford," Bulldog head coach Todd Yelton said. "She has always worked just as hard in the classroom as she did on the field, and that has shown with her performance in both areas. I am thrilled to see her receive the recognition she deserves and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future."
 
This is the second time Orman has earned Academic All-District honors, as she was also named to the team in 2019. She is also a three-time member of the SoCon's Academic Honor Roll, and has been named to the Academic All-SoCon team twice.
 
Last month, Orman was awarded a Southern Conference Presidential Postgraduate Scholarship to go towards her postgraduate studies.
 
Athletically, Orman was named to the SoCon's All-Freshman team in 2017, first team All-SoCon in 2018, and second team All-SoCon in both 2019 and 2020. For her career, she tallied 12 goals and eight assists for a total of 32 points.
 
Orman helped lead the team to four SoCon regular-season titles and one SoCon Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament bid.
