Grace Sommi pushed Samford past Murray State in an exhibition match for a 2-1 Bulldog victory on Thursday afternoon at Cutchin Field.

- After three shots to open up the match, the Bulldogs found the back of the net at the 20:36 minute mark after Kyla Reynolds slotted the ball past Murray State's goalkeeper, Cera Prather, for an early 1-0 Samford lead.
- The Racers evened the score 17 minutes later after Rebecca Kubin executed a shot to the top right corner of the goal off an assist from her fellow teammate, Chloe Barnthouse.
- Just over a minute later, Grace Sommi gave Samford a 2-1 lead before heading into the break after the senior placed the ball into the right upper 90 to officially mark her return after a season-ending injury last year.
