BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the first month of the 2022 NFL season in the books, there are a handful of Samford Bulldogs scattered across NFL Rosters.
Samford currently has four former Bulldogs in the NFL, with former standouts James Bradberry and
Montrell Washington headlining as Samford's top NFL representatives. The pair is joined by Michael Pierce and Nick Williams
Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 5 Schedule: Giants at Green Bay (Sunday, 8:30 a.m. CT)
After signing with the New York Giants in the offseason, Williams tallied a season-high five tackles in the Giants' 20-12 victory over the Bears on Sunday.
James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 5 Schedule: Eagles at Cardinals (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great James Bradberry grabbed his second interception of the season and collected a pair of tackles with a pass deflection to help the Eagles stay undefeated with a 29-21 win against the Jaguars.
Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 5 Schedule: Cincinnati at Ravens (Sunday, 7:20 p.m. CT)
Michael Pierce suffered a biceps tear in Baltimore's Week 3 over New England and will miss the rest of the season. The Ravens fell 23-20 to the Bills.
Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 5 Schedule: Colts at Broncos (Thursday, 7:15 p.m. CT)
Montrell Washington, who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, returned three punts for 66 yards with a long 30 yards and caught a pass for four yards as the Broncos fell 32-23 to the Raiders.
