Pro Dogs: Week 1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2022 NFL campaign kickoff this past weekend with several former Samford football players comprising professional rosters.

Samford currently has four former Bulldogs in the NFL, with former standouts James Bradberry and Montrell Washington headlining as Samford's top NFL representatives. The pair is joined by Michael Pierce and Nick Williams

Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 2 Schedule: Panthers at Giants (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CT)
After signing with the New York Giants in the offseason, Williams started in the dramatic Giants 21-20 comeback win over the titans but did not record any stats.

James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 2 Schedule: Vikings at Eagles (Monday, 7:30 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great James Bradberry collected a pair of tackles and 27-yard pick-six to assist the Eagles to a 38-35 victory over the Lions.

Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 2 Schedule: Dolphins at Ravens (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CT)
Pierce tallied three tackles as the Ravens dominated the Jets, 24-9.

Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 2 Schedule: Texans at Broncos (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. ET)
Montrell Washington, who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, returned three kickoffs for 51 yards and a punt for three as the Broncos fell 17-16 on Monday Night Football to the Seahawks.
