BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Volleyball Team will host a pair of Southern Conference home matches this weekend, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. contest against ETSU on Friday and concluding with a 5:00 p.m. matchup with Chattanooga on Saturday.
 
Samford Volleyball (6-8) heads into its weekend slate with a 1-1 record against SoCon Opponents. After falling 3-1 at Western Carolina in their conference opener on Sept. 23, the Bulldogs bounced back with a 3-0 sweep over UNC Greensboro in Greensboro on Sept. 24.
 
Samford currently leads the SoCon with an average of 13.19 kills per set. Kenya McQuirter (3.48), Lauren Deaton (3.19), and Grace Lynn Butler (3.00) all rank in the top 10 in kills per set in the conference with McQuirter ranking third and Deaton and Butler coming in at eighth and tenth.
 
The Bulldogs pace the SoCon with an average of 12.02 assists per set. Keshock leads all SoCon setters and ranks in the top 30 nationally with a rate of 10.52 assists per set.
 
On the defensive side, Morgan leads the Bulldogs and ranks fourth in the SoCon in digs per set at 3.90. Greer Golden leads the team with 38 blocks while Kate Wonus has tallied 37.
 
The Bulldogs come into the weekend leading the SoCon and ranking 21st in the country with 102 service aces, for an average of 1.96 aces per set.
 
Morgan additionally leads the conference and ranks 32nd in the nation with 25 aces. Keshock (22) ranks third and Andie Salasky (19) fifth.
 
The Bulldogs have won six of their last seven against ETSU (8-6, 2-0 SoCon) and hold an 11-10 advantage in the series. Samford bested ETSU 3-0 at home in their most recent meeting on Nov. 19 of the 2021 season.
 
Despite trailing Chattanooga (7-9, 2-0 SoCon) 34-17 in their series history, The Bulldogs have taken six of itheir last eight against Chattanooga, including a 3-0 win at home on Nov. 6, 2021.
