BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford graduate track and field athlete
Ty Kimberlin was named the Southern Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week and the league's Student Athlete of the Week when the league released the awards Wednesday afternoon.
Kimberlin turned in yet another stellar performance last week. In the Samford Multi, held Thursday and Friday, Kimberlin won the men's heptathlon with 5,431 points.
In the classroom, the Olive Branch, Miss., native holds a 4.0 grade point average in professional accountancy. Kimberlin is a four-time member of the of the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and a three-time SoCon Academic All-Conference team selection.
On Sunday, Feb. 5, Samford will compete in the South Alabama Invite, also held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
