BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2023 NFL campaign kicked off in September with four former members of the Samford football team on active rosters.
  
Past Samford standouts James Bradberry is on the Eagles, Nick Williams is with the Chargers and Michael Peirce plays for the Ravens. Montrell Washington was promoted to of the Chiefs' active roster for Week 3 after opening the season on the Practice Squad. 
  
James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 6 Schedule:  Eagles at Jets (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great and All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry picked up a trio of tackles and a pass break up as the Eagles stayed undefeated with a 23-14 win over the Rams.
 
Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 6 Schedule:  Cowboys at Chargers (Monday, 7:15 p.m. CT)
After signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in the offseason, Williams collected three tackles in the Chargers' 24-17 win over the Raiders on Monday night.
   
Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 6 Schedule: Ravens at Titans (Sunday, 8:30 a.m. CT)
After not recording any stats in week four, Michael Pierce got back on the stat sheet with a pair of tackles as the Ravens fell 17-10 to the Steelers.
  
Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 6 Schedule: Broncos at Chiefs (Thursday, 7:15 p.m. CT)
In the Chiefs' 27-20 victory over the Vikings, Montrell Washington returned a kickoff for 20 yards and a punt for eight yards.
