BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2023 NFL campaign kicked off in September with four former members of the Samford football team on active rosters.
  
Past Samford standouts James Bradberry is on the Eagles, Nick Williams is with the Chargers and Michael Peirce plays for the Ravens. Montrell Washington was promoted to of the Chiefs' active roster for Week 3 after opening the season on the Practice Squad. 
  
James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 7 Schedule:  Dolphins at Eagles (Sunday, 7:20 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great and All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry tallied five tackles as the Eagles fell for the first time in 2023 to the Jets by a score of 20-14.
 
Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 7 Schedule:  Chargers at Chiefs (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CT)
Despite dropping a 20-17 Monday Night matchup to the Cowboys, Nick Williams picked up his first sack of the sack on year and a trio of tackles.
   
Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 7 Schedule: Lions at Ravens(Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
In a game which Michael Pierce collected a tackle, the Ravens got back in the win column with a 24-16 victory over the Titans in London.
  
Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 7 Schedule: Chargers at Chiefs (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CT)
In the Chiefs' 19-8 victory over the Vikings, Montrell Washington returned three punts for a total of 10 yards.
