Pro Dogs: Week Three

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2023 NFL campaign kicked off this month with four former members of the Samford football team on active rosters.

Past Samford standouts James Bradberry is on the Eagles, Nick Williams is with the Chargers and Michael Peirce plays for the Ravens. Montrell Washington was promoted to of the Chiefs' active roster for Week 3 after opening the season on the Practice Squad.

James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 4 Schedule: Commanders at Eagles (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great and All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry returned to action this week in the Eagles' 25-11 win over the Buccaneers with a tackle and a fumble recovery.

Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 4 Schedule: Raiders at Chargers (Sunday, 3:05 p.m. CT)
After signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in the offseason, Williams collected a season-high four tackles in the Chargers' 28-24 victory over the Vikings.

Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 4 Schedule: Ravens at Browns (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CT)
After missing most of the 2022 season with an injury, Michael Pierce also tallied a season-high five tackles in a losing effort as the Ravens fell 22-19 to the Colts.

Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 4 Schedule: Chiefs at Jets (Sunday, 7:20 p.m. CT)
In his first game on the active roster this season, Montrell Washington returned a trio of punts for 33 yards in the Chiefs' 41-10 beat down of the Bears. International Pop Sensation Taylor Swift was also in attendance.
