BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford baseball program has announced it will host its annual First Pitch Dinner on February 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Regions Room in Cooney Hall at the Brock School of Business. 
 
The event is designed as a kickstart celebration for the upcoming baseball season with the Diamond Society.  The overall format for the dinner was adjusted last year and received a ton of positive feedback from those in attendance. In addition to dinner, the members will be updated on all things Samford Baseball related by the coaching staff and baseball players in attendance.
 
"The dinner has been a great event for us for years," Samford head coach Tony David said. "This is an opportunity for our coaching staff and program to express appreciation for the group that does so much for us. Last year we shifted the event to where our coaching staff gives updates about the team, new upgrades and additions to the program like software and facilities. And I will share information about the upcoming season and current team."
 
The night will likely take a brief celebratory look back on the historic 2023 season that saw the team win the Southern Conference regular season and Tournament titles for the first time in school history, before defeating No. 13 Southern Mississippi in the NCAA tournament in June.
 
"We look forward to having our Diamond Society members on hand for what should be another outstanding night celebrating them, our players and overall baseball program," David said. "There is a lot to be excited about that we look forward to sharing."
