Samford Releases 2024 Softball Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Highlighted by a pair of home games with SEC powers and home series that features a rematch of the 2023 Southern Conference Championship game, head coach Kimball Cassady released the 2024 Samford softball schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

Samford begins the season with a 10-game road trip that includes the Troy-hosted Trojan Classic on the opening weekend of Feb. 9-11. The first midweek of the year is slated for Feb. 13 at Alabama State before the Bulldogs head to Florida on Feb. 16-18 for the UNF-JU Invitational.

The Bulldogs' home opener is scheduled for Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. as cross-town rival UAB crosses Red Mountain for the midweek showdown. Following the home opener, Samford will hit the road again for the Jacksonville State-hosted Cocky Classic (Feb. 23-24) and the Mississippi State-hosted Bulldog Invitational (March 1-3).

Following the Bulldog Invitational, Samford returns home to host Belmont on March 5 and Mississippi Valley State on March 6. The final non-conference touranment for the Bulldogs is slated to be the UNA Tournament held March 8-9.

After playing at Alabama on March 19, the Bulldogs welcome the Chattanooga Mocs to Birmingham to kick off SoCon play on the weekend of March 23.

To open the month of April, Samford opens a pivotal five-game stretch that starts April 3 at Auburn before returning home to host defending SoCon champions UNCG for a weekend series on April 6-7 and Alabama in the midweek on April 9.

For the final home midweek of the season, the Bulldogs will host Mississippi State on April 24 before welcoming the Catamounts of Western Carolina to town for Senior Weekend. The final home weekend of the season against WCU is slated for April 27-28.

The Southern Conference Tournament will be held May 8-11 in Greensboro, N.C. Admission to all home Samford softball games is free.
