BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford softball program made an addition to its coaching staff as
Ryan Greenwood was named the Director of Player Development.
Greenwood brings over 20 years of high-level club softball experience, where he most recently served as the National Director for U18 Fusion Softball. He was also an instructor at LSU's head coach Beth Torina Softball Camps. Greenwood has helped send 100+ players to Division I colleges in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, Sunbelt, SoCon, CUSA, and SWAC.

"We are so excited to add Ryan to our staff this season," said head coach Megan Curry. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and love for the game that will only heighten our program. Welcome home, Ryan!"
Greenwood also has coaching experience as an assistant coach and head of player development at Assumption HS in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Jacksonville State in 1993 with a degree in Computer Information Services and Marketing.Â
Samford is coming off a 33-23 record last season, where they finished in third place at the SoCon Tournament.Â
