BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team will travel for a pair of Southern Conference matches this week, playing at Furman Friday at 5 p.m. (CT) and at Mercer Saturday, also at 5 p.m. (CT).
 
Samford and Furman have met 45 previous times, with Furman holding a 24-21 series lead. The teams met earlier this season in the Pete Hanna Center, with Samford picking up a 3-1 victory over the Paladins.

Samford and Mercer have met 26 previous times, with Samford owning a 19-7 series lead. Earlier this season, Samford earned a 3-1 win at home over Mercer.
 
For the season, Samford (13-9, 7-5 SoCon) has been led offensively by Kaleigh Meritt with 302 kills, and she ranks third in the Southern Conference in kills per set at 3.64. Gracie Lynn Butler has 272 kills, while Ally Cordes has 198 kills on the season. Additionally, Kate Wonus has tallied 152 kills so far this season.
 
Also, Lexi Thatcher leads Samford and the Southern Conference in assists per set, averaging 10.60 per set. Kate Morgan leads the team in digs with 337 on the season. She ranks eighth in the SoCon in digs per set, averaging 3.99 digs per set. Behind Morgan, Merritt has contributed 242 digs, while Cordes has 212 digs.
