HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team remains in third place, and senior
Bailey Dunstan is tied for first individually, after the second round of the Southern Conference Championship, held Monday at Moss Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 6,036 yards).
"The ladies played well again today," Samford head coach
Joe Davidson said. "We gave up seven shots coming in on the last two holes or today could have been even better. It was another windy day, and I could tell we were tired coming in. If we can put it all together tomorrow, we'll see what happens."
Samford has a two-round team score of 600 (302-298) to place third in the nine-team field. ETSU currently leads the event with a score of 589 (293-296), while Furman sits in second at 599 (295-304).
Dunstan has a two-round score of even par 144 (72-72) to tie with ETSU's Sophie Bert for first place in the 45-player field.
Gabi Nicastro is tied for 10
th with a score of 150 (74-76), while
Kelley Topiwala is tied for 15
th at 153 (81-72).
Grace Engel is tied for 26
th in the tournament with a two-round score of 156 (77-79).
Christian Williams is currently tied for 29
th with a score of 157 (79-78).
The tournament will conclude with the third and final round Tuesday morning. Samford's tee times are set to start at 8:20 a.m. (CT). Fans can follow the action online at the following link:
