MONROE, La. – Samford junior
Gabi Nicastro shot a school-record 10-under-par 62 in Tuesday's final round to earn individual medalist honors and the Bulldogs finished second as a team at the ULM Invitational, played Monday and Tuesday at Bayou Desiard Country Club.
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of six-over par 870 (287-295-288) to place second in the 14-team field. The host school, Louisiana-Monroe won the event with a final score of 856 (284-293-279).
Nicastro took first place in the 84-player field with a final score of 13-under-par 203 (74-67-62). Her 62 in Tuesday's final round breaks the previous school record of 65 set by
Bailey Dunstan in 2024.
Grace Engel also finished in the top 10, tying for sixth with a three-round total of 215 (67-74-74).
Kate Joyner tied for 26
th at 224 (75-74-75).
Anika Richards tied for 36
th with a score of 228 (71-80-77), while
Anne Reaves Skinner tied for 80
th at 250 (85-85-80).
Next up, Samford will compete in the GolfWeek /Stifel Spring Challenge, April 6-8.
